Obama: I Will Not Abandon Darfur
President Obama promised to do his utmost best to help ensure an end to the suffering that the world has seen and yet done little about for years. He is known to be a man of his word and therefore reassuring to know that he will not abandon his promise, as President of the United States.
What many in the world wish though is that his input, despite other world problems such as the financial crises, will not push back the need for urgent action. During his campaign for President, he was very proud of the efforts he had made in relation to bringing an end to the suffering that millions of people in Darfur go through. Sadly, their crises did not start a year ago... it started many years ago and has still not ended.
He made a firm commitment to bring an end to the suffering of the millions of people caught up in the Darfur crises. ´As President of the United States, I do not intend to abandon people or turn a blind eye to slaughter.´
